UNITANK Betriebs- und Verwaltungs GmbH
Comprehensive support, high level of expertise

The medium-sized UNITANK Betriebs- und Verwaltungs GmbH is a neutral service provider for the storage, refining and handling of various mineral oil products. With locations in Germany and Belgium, UNITANK is one of the preferred partners of leading mineral oil companies. Due to a reorientation, the company needed a flexible IT solution that would fit its future course.

Facts and key data
UNITANK in a nutshel

  • Project duration: One year

  • Number of employees: approx. 70

  • Locations: Berlin Westhafen, Berlin Rudow, Emleben, Fürth, Raunheim, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Roeselare (Belgium)

Initial situation
at the start of the project

The cooperation between UNITANK GmbH and its previous IT service provider was often sluggish and formal, which repeatedly led to dissatisfaction. The perceived disparity between costs and services provided fueled frustration. As part of a corporate realignment, it also became clear that the current service provider would not be able to keep pace with future requirements. Despite an overall solid software situation, UNITANK looked for alternative solutions that were better suited to its new ambitions.

  • Sluggish IT cooperation hinders progress

  • Unbalanced price-performance ratio

  • Existing software did not fit the new strategy

Result
and current situation

UNITANK Betriebs- und Verwaltungs GmbH has been using the VERA-V3 and VTA-EMCS systems since 2015. These are supplemented by a dashboard app that provides a maximum overview. VTA technologies ensure both a uniform structure at all sites (software as a service) and central access to critical data. Cross-tank terminal analyses provide management with deeper insights, improve control and increase efficiency. This - combined with easier access to data - not only optimizes project management, but also reduces costs. VERA-V3, in particular the master data consolidation, plays a key role in this. The good relationship between VTA and UNITANK is reflected in the consideration of individual company requirements - for example, the seamless integration of new locations, such as the tank farm in Stuttgart.

  • Standardized structure at all locations

  • Centralized and simplified data access

  • In-depth, cross-tank terminal analyses

  • Improved control of the tank farms

  • Significant cost optimization

  • Increased transparency in day-to-day business

  • Seamless integration of new sites

"What advice would I give to someone who is in a similar situation to us today? 'Talk to VTA! Here's the phone number'. It's invaluable to work with a company that not only offers flexibility, good products and fast implementation - but also has such in-depth industry knowledge."
Michael Herold, Managing Director / COO
