PCK Raffinerie GmbH, located in Schwedt/Oder at the interface between Germany and Poland, plays a decisive role in the energy supply in the region around Berlin-Brandenburg. As a leading supplier of high-quality fuels such as petrol, diesel, heating oil, liquid gas and paraffin, the company supplies well-known customers like Shell and Eni, who depend on the reliability and quality of its products. As part of the modernisation of an existing management system, the company decided to implement a new IT solution for driver and vehicle management.
Solution: SIDEFLOW
Industry: Fuel industry
Project year: 2022 - 2023
A partner company portal based on a proprietary Access solution was used to register and manage lorry drivers for PCK. However, the developers were no longer available due to their age, meaning that maintenance and further development could no longer be guaranteed. In addition, data was not synchronised between Schwedt and the Seefeld tank farm belonging to PCK. As a result, data records had to be maintained several times in some cases.
In order to implement a customised solution, VTA drew on the customer's precise requirements specification when developing SIDEFLOW. Another advantage was that PCK was already familiar with how the dispatch system worked from previous projects. There was also already an interface between the customer's old system and VERA V3. This software was introduced at the company in 2013. The SIDEFLOW application now makes the interaction perfect. The customer uses the programme for driver registration in Schwedt and Seefeld. It can handle the necessary driver management and move away from its old system. SIDEFLOW now also offers the option of centralised vehicle management. Haulage companies can enter their own data, which saves PCK additional time.
